AMDA-Bangladesh shares in the pride of all members of the AMDA family for the success this organization of ours has achieved in a period of two decades from its inception in 1984. After joining the AMDA-International, the members of AMDA-Bangladesh have tried hard to be a proud contributor in the success story of this organization through successful implementation of a number of projects in last twelve years starting from emergency relief and rehabilitation to long term activities of community development. Though primarily a doctors’ organization and specializing in medical and health sectors, AMDA-Bangladesh has also been working in other fields like education, income generation for the poor, micro-finance and community development. Our present ongoing project, AMDA Bangladesh Complex (ABC), is an integrated implementation of vocational training center, micro finance and health center in a befitting manner, all in the same compound in Gazaria, Munshigonj (about 30 kilometers south of Dhaka). The ABC project is a unique invention of AMDA-Bangladesh, which covers all three vitally important fields like health, education and poverty alleviation. Our dream is to replicate such complexes throughout the whole country for a better future. The development of a website for AMDA-Bangladesh opens up a new horizon to implement the philosophy of mutual assistance (sogo-fujo) of AMDA-International. We are hopeful that this website will be the meeting ground of ideas between our partners all over the world so that we can realize through collaboration AMDA’s dream of ‘co-existence of diversity’.
