Down Syndrome Parents Support Group of Bangladesh is a joint initiative of AMDA Bangladesh
and Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital, a platform for children born with Down Syndrome and their parents.
The sole purpose of this platform is to inspire children born with Down syndrome by enabling them to help
change the world and assist them in special needs advocacy, education, employment and social inclusion.
Down Syndrome is not a birth defect. It is, rather, a blessing. Children born with an extra chromosome have unique talents that are not acknowledged. The Down Syndrome Parents Support Group of Bangladesh wishes to educate and create awareness about this condition and offer support for parents with children, relatives or friends who have Down Syndrome.
Sarder A Razzak understands the difficulties of Down Syndrome sufferers better than most people. When his youngest son Rafan Razaak was born in 2008, he was put in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and was asked to get a Karyotype test.

Down Syndrome Parents Support Group of Bangladesh attended a DSi training programme at the World Down Syndrome Congress, India in 2015. We now need to build on this in Bangladesh, training them to provide accurate information, support and resources and building their capacity to lobby authorities and change attitudes. We can do this through “Reach Out”.
